Out of the norm...

As Marc and I sat down to make Thanksgiving plans, the thought of camping was one of the ideas that was thrown out. I thought to myself, no stress of cooking the perfect meal, no financial burden of buying the perfect meal, and no worries about trying to please everyone! Now don't get me wrong, I love my family dearly, and we have already had 3 wonderful Thanksgiving dinners together, all homemade... the whole 9 yards. This year we both just had a longing for something out of the norm. The fact that my brother Cody is living with us also pushed us to create a 'memorable' holiday, unlike any other. And I would have to say It was memorable! Here are a few pictures of our holiday excursion!

Our Campsite

There were many campers on Thanksgiving day, who would have thought?

Our Thanksgiving Dinner Cooked over an open fire: Grilled Veggies, Salmon and Stuffing!

Yum Yum!

Hiking through Lost Maples

We also did some hiking up the mountain that we camped up against, there were some beautiful view's from the top!

Exploring in the caves on the side of the mountain.

A Sneak Peak inside Garner State park where we camped, Fall was EVERYWHERE

Nighttime came early, we actually got like 12 hours of sleep each night! Because it was so cold, campfires were a must- even though I hated smelling like smoke afterwards!

Tyson Loved Cody!

All in all it was a wonderful trip! I loved it, and hope to go back in the summertime when the weather is warmer, so we can go swimming and float down the Frio River!
